Tomorrow is our next free Friday International Dinner for the semester hosted by UNC International Friends, Friday April 5th at University Presbyterian Church. Enter through the student center doors at 110 Henderson Street (1/2 block off Franklin Street) (Google Maps link). For this dinner we will be meeting upstairs instead of our usual room.
Dinner will be served at 6pm and we will be enjoying Italian food! Lasagna, garlic bread, salad and more, it should be a great meal together! After dinner you will have the opportunity to hear the real life story of how one international student here came to America, initially opposed to things related to faith when she first arrived for grad school in New York, and had her life spiritually transformed with new purpose, peace and joy. Next we will hear from IF’s Mark Vance on ‘Embracing the American way while in America’. He will discuss a sampling of American values that culture-learners will discover and embrace while they live in America. We will share discussion questions at the tables and will end by 8pm so you can catch the bus home – or there are people who can give you a ride.
It will be great to see everyone, see you Friday before 6pm!
Spring Baseball with IF! Come enjoy the beautiful spring weather and get to experience an American pastime – Baseball! Come join IF and see the UNC baseball team play next week, on Tuesday April 9th at 6pm at Boshamer Stadium on campus. We will have people there who can explain the game to you if you like. The Tarheels have had consistently good teams the last few years and are doing well again. If you have a UNC One Card you can get in free and brings some guests as well. Email at UNCinternationalfriends@gmail.com if you have any questions.
