Global Leadership Forum Friday

Leadership Dinner this Friday – note different location !

We be having a Global Leadership dinner this Friday instead of our usual dinner. These dinners are a chance to hear from a local business leader on a leadership topic. This week we will be hearing from Jim Morgan, CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. We are meeting on campus at in Hamilton Hall, Rm 100 (Click for map), starting at 6pm with a chance to meet Jim, and then dinner starting at 6:30 after which Jim will speak on the topic “Passion in Leadership”. Jim Morgan Bio:

Jim Morgan was named President and CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. in January 2008. Mr. Morgan has been a member of the Krispy Kreme Board of Directors since 2000 and was elected its chairman in 2005. Mr. Morgan served as Chairman and CEO of Wachovia Securities following the acquisition of Interstate/Johnson Lane, Inc. (IJL) by Wachovia Corporation. He also served as Chairman and CEO of Interstate/Johnson Lane, Inc. Mr. Morgan is a past member of the Securities Industry Association Board of Directors and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) regional firms committee, and is currently on the Board of Directors of Coca-Coca Bottling Company Consolidated. Mr. Morgan has more than 40 years of business experience and is a 1969 graduate of Vanderbilt University. He also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.

Upcoming Trip to Hanging Rock

Sat October 26th we have our annual trip to Hanging Rock in the mountains to see the Fall colors as the leaves change! More details coming soon, but please save the date for a fun day of hiking, a picnic on the top of scenic Hanging Rock, and a great time together.
