Join us as we go to Raleigh this Friday for its International Festival (www.internationalfestival.org) — a celebration of dance, food, music, and traditions from around the globe, featuring 52 different world cultures! There will be sidewalk cafes with food from various countries, cultural exhibits, world bazaars where you can buy gifts and crafts from all over the world, demonstrations of crafts and cooking from international teachers, international bands and music performances, games and face-painting for children, and authentic dances from many cultures! Friday’s dance performances will include Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Indian, Turkish, and Venezuelan dances, just to name a few. There will be Bollywood, French and Middle Eastern dance teaching demonstrations, as well as Russian and African music performances. Admission is $6 in advance (online) or $7 at the door. You will also want to bring money for any food you want to buy, or other handmade crafts and such at the bazaar.
We will meet at 5pm at the parking lot by the Global Fedex Building and the School of Pharmacy (off of McCauley St, right past the intersection of South Rd and Columbia St) to drive to Raleigh and will be back by 10pm. If you would like to come, please email Katelyn Dougherty: email@example.com by Thursday evening so we can organize transportation. We hope you will join us!
